Community Dinners
We typically hold Community Friday night dinners once a month (summer months excepted), after services. These are warm sit-down meals held in our social hall. For Sukkot, we eat outside in our sukkah! The food, which comes from one of the Kosher caterers in Brookline, is excellent. Vegetarian meals are available on prior notice, and we try to have some kid’s food as well.
We generally try to schedule our dinners to coincide with Shabbats when we have one of our rabbis in attendance. We generally have stimulating discussions over dinner on a topic chosen by the rabbi.
Our Friday night dinners are warm communal events that people really enjoy being a part of. Try it some time and you’ll agree!
Attendance at Friday night dinner is by prior reservation and payment only. Please contact the office at 617.523.0453 or by email no later than Wednesday 5PM prior to the dinner. Any cancellations must be received by 5 PM Wednesday, since we will be ordering food based on the reservation count.
The very reasonable price for Friday night dinners is:
Members: $15 for adults; $10 for children over 12; under 12 free
Non-Members: $20 for adults; $10 for children over 12; under 12 free
Young Professionals Dinners
This spring, we began monthly dinners especially for young professionals 21+, hosted by our rabbinic intern from Hebrew College. The response to date has been extremely gratifying, with young Jewish adults from all over the Boston area getting together for leisurely dining and conversation. Because everyone has been having such a good time, the dinners often run late into the evening.
